π Confident English
A complete, self-paced B2 Upper-Intermediate English course β the level of nuance, range, and real fluency. Twenty-four lessons take you into narrative tenses, hypotheticals and regrets, verb patterns, advanced passives, participle clauses, discourse markers, the art of emphasis, precision structures, vocabulary growth, register and persuasion β the tools for discussing anything with confidence.
π About This Course
This is real language study that builds directly on B1. If you can already handle most situations, give opinions, and tell connected stories, you're ready to add precision and style: to express fine shades of meaning, structure an argument, and speak naturally about abstract and complex topics.
It follows the CEFR B2 ("Vantage") level: the point at which you can interact with fluency and spontaneity, understand the main ideas of complex text, and produce clear, detailed writing and speech on a wide range of subjects β explaining a viewpoint and weighing the pros and cons.
What You'll Be Able to Do
- Tell rich, layered stories with the full set of narrative tenses
- Talk about past hypotheticals and regrets (third & mixed conditionals, wish)
- Master verb patterns β gerunds, infinitives, and reporting verbs
- Use advanced passive structures, including impersonal reporting
- Connect and compress ideas with participle clauses and discourse markers
- Add emphasis and style with cleft sentences and inversion
- Present, argue, and discuss complex topics with confidence
- Handle future and causative structures and precise determiners
- Grow your vocabulary through word formation and advanced comparison
- Shift register, tell anecdotes, and persuade an audience
- Decode fast natural speech and use vague language like a native speaker
Who This Course Is For
- Self-study learners who have finished B1 and want to reach a confident, near-fluent level
- Classroom students β every lesson has extended speaking, discussion, and presentation tasks
- Teachers looking for a ready-made, sequenced B2 syllabus
- Learners preparing for exams like Cambridge B2 First (FCE) or IELTS ~5.5β6.5
π‘ Make sure B1 is solid first
B2 assumes confident B1 grammar (perfect tenses, conditionals, reported speech, relative clauses, the passive). If any of that is shaky, spend time with Independent English (B1) first β this course moves quickly and builds on it directly.

π§ How to Study This Course
- One lesson at a time, in order. B2 structures interlock β later lessons assume earlier ones.
- Speak at length, and take risks. Fluency at B2 means attempting complex sentences and self-correcting, not playing safe.
- Do the project. Each lesson ends with an extended speaking, discussion, or presentation task β that's where range grows.
- Notice register. B2 is where formal vs informal and spoken vs written really matter β pay attention to the notes.
- Immerse fully. Read articles, watch movies and talks, and listen to podcasts in English daily. At B2, input in bulk is what carries you toward fluency.
π§ A word before you begin
B2 is the level where "good English" turns into "your English" β where you stop borrowing sentences and start composing them. The goal here isn't perfection; it's expression: saying precisely what you mean, with the shade and emphasis you intend. That's a lifelong craft, and this course hands you its core tools. Let's finish the climb. π±
