π English Foundations
A complete, self-paced A1 Beginner English course. Twenty-two real lessons take you from your very first letter to your first real conversations β greetings, family, daily routines, the time, food, describing people, making plans, and everyday tasks. (Talking about the past comes next, in A2.)
π About This Course
This is real language study, not a list of tips about English. Every lesson teaches actual vocabulary, grammar, and phrases you can use immediately β with dialogues to read aloud, exercises with answers, a hands-on speaking project, and a reflection journal to keep you moving forward.
It follows the CEFR A1 ("Breakthrough") level: the language a complete beginner needs to introduce themselves, ask and answer simple questions, and handle everyday situations in short, simple exchanges.
What You'll Be Able to Do
- Spell your name and read the alphabet aloud
- Greet people, introduce yourself, and say where you're from
- Use numbers for age, prices, time, and phone numbers
- Describe your family, your home, and everyday objects
- Talk about your daily routine and what you're doing right now
- Say what you can and can't do, and what food you like

- Say how often you do things, what you like, and what you plan to do
- Order in a cafΓ©, go shopping for clothes, and talk about the weather
- Handle real situations like asking for directions and visiting the doctor

You can start this course knowing zero English. All you need is about 45 minutes per lesson, a way to speak out loud (a partner, a class, or your phone's voice recorder), and a notebook for your learning journal.
π Speak another language? Free online tools can read this whole course in your language and read the words aloud. See π Free Tools to Help You Learn β a simple, step-by-step guide.

π§ How to Study This Course
- One lesson at a time, in order. Don't rush β it's a marathon, not a sprint.
- Speak out loud. Read every dialogue and phrase aloud. Language lives in your mouth, not just your eyes.
- Do the project. Each lesson ends with a real speaking task β that's where the learning sticks.
- Keep the journal. Five minutes of reflection after each lesson doubles what you remember.
- Review often. Come back to earlier lessons. Seeing old words again is how they become permanent.
- Use free tools. Translate the page into your language, hear the words aloud, and practice with AI. See π Free Tools to Help You Learn.
π§ A word before you begin
If you've tried to learn English before and stopped, that's okay β most people start more than once. You are not behind. You are exactly on time. Add the word yet to your doubts: "I can't speak Englishβ¦ yet." Let's begin. π±
